Hit a new Baltimore City park today with JC today and the results exceeded expectations. JC is always the "quarter hoarder", so his personal bests of 73 clad quarters and 30 wheats did not surprise me. I dug 90 clad coins: 31 were quarters and one Sacagawea dollar. 6 of my 20 wheats are from the 'teens. Best finds for me are the three silvers: 1936 merc, 1943 Washington, and a 1954 one bolivar coin from Venezuela. (JC dug a 1915 British penny for his foreign coin). Other notable items for me are a plated ring, a square-shaped flat button and a 2 drachms apothecary weight that may date from the late 19th century. The weight is a little greater in diameter than a nickel and much thicker. This one was manufactured by H. Troemner of Philadelphia.

Thanks Chuck! It really has been a great past six months of detecting. I think the Equinox has helped. We are taking on some of the smaller old parks in Baltimore over the next two months.

Thanks Hawks88! This little park in Baltimore City is nothing like it was in the late 20s as it has been graded and buildings put up. Some how through all that we came upon the load of clad and much older targets.

Thanks Inspector! Thrilled to have a 3-silver hunt. Think if we take our time, next time, we may find even more.

Thanks Li Tom! I imaging there are a number of these hiding in South America. Yes, I cannot recall seeing another posted.

Thanks bolle! Many of these parks have been around for 100+ years; this one predates 1897.

Thanks "D"! Went to a new park this AM for 2+ hours with JF. Lots of clad, got 8 wheats but they are all from 40s and 50s. So I am wondering where the silver went to. JF scored a 10K class ring and I did get silver in the form of a small claddagh ring. If I do go back I will be hunting the sloping hills.
