Just finished a 4.5 day hunt with Newfie boy who flew in for the week, as well as Ironhorse who made it out for a couple of days.

Weather was terrible and it was mid. week before I got on some productive land, but it sure ended up being a blast digging! I dug 44 coppers, 5 silver (1 ctft), 132 buttons (6 military) and the other misc. things in the picture. My favorite find is an odd one, an 18th century contemporary counterfeit French ECU (40mm) countermarked WHITE. In addition to that, I've never had much luck at finding any decent more modern silver coins and these are my best two in 19 years. It's not not really what I look for, but each was quite a surprise and the quarter held up remarkably well for a farm field find. Sad to see it's over, but I'm sure I'll be back to look at this post sometime down the road to relive some of those moments! :headbang:

Great hunts Iron Patch. 44 coppers, fantastic, those alone are more then most folks will find in multiple years of detecting. I would take the ECU, counterfeit or not, any day, as it is a great looking coin. Good luck with your hunts. WALT PS, if you ever need anyone to carry your shovel and help dig holes, just holler.

It's hard to figure out what to say here as you have some great finds! 44 coppers would last me a few years worth of excitement! That counterfeit coin is really cool too! Congrats on it all. Is this all one site? Amazing!

Guess I'm Newfie boy! haha.
Was a crazy hunt for finds and weather, snow/rain/wind. I learned snow is much better to hunt in than sideways rain! You were gone full blown ninja with that Deus! Still a debate who had the top find though lol.
Its always great to hunt with IP and IH, one of ya always pop something great. Thx for having me out again.

Very true... IH likely did with that button, and you stole my favorite gym hat!

Turns out having GPS on a detector to log where you dug the coins is not nearly as good as an imaginary one that tells you where they are so you can find them! :laughing7:

OK. My obvious first question is gonna be how big are your hands? That's a big freakin coin! It looks like you could eat a small meal off of that thing. Nice digs. :occasion14:
