My most beautiful breakthrough today. 30 unused cartridges in 2 pits at a distance of 0.5m from each other.
Police and firemen have been called to lift them according to the legislation in force.
They have searched the surroundings to see if they still find something (they have not found anything else).
Law people who came to the scene had honorable behavior and deserve my respects.

Well that looks like it would ruin a couple hours of detecting time.

So when you find bullets you have to report them?

How did you date them to 1943? I found several that look similar and would like to identify them.

Hello JoshW. After me there are two ways to identify cartridges.
The first method on most cartridges is dated at their base.

The second method is by the strip at their base. The stripes are after the Second World War and the ones without the First World War.

After me these would be the two methods of estimating the age.
A nice day. Easy Detection: P

Thanks! I couldn't see the attachments but based on the information I was able to quickly find what I was looking for. The link below shows that what I found were WWI Springfield 30-06 rounds made by Remington in Hoboken, NJ 1918. That confirmed my suspicion, as these were found in an area with a known WWI training camp.
