Absolutely terrific recovery. Double check your chain....The medal may be marked 750 but that type of chain is called a "bhat" chain. Typically made of 22k + gold. Widely used as currency in rural areas of Asia. Each link has a specific weight and value.
The giveaway is the bendable "S" clasp and the link style.

Thanks! You know you might be right. After taking a closer look the chain is for sure a deeper gold color than the pendant. The chain is closer to the color of the $5 dollar gold coin that I found.

As I am finding , In life we begin having the Blissful happiness & the Wonder & innocence of a Child, then fall Quickly, then spend the rest of our lives trying to reach that point where we began ,through Pleasure , Fame, & Materials but Only 'Through true faith in Jesus , can we find Prefect Happiness or true Meaning in our Short lives on this Beautiful Earth filled with both the Light of Pure goodness & The Darkness of Pure Evil. Not the date, but I'm sure finding out a bunch of history about this particular type chain. I was told that pilots were given these gold chains to be used as bribes if they ever happen to get shot down over enemy territory in SE Asia. Each link of the 22k+ gold chain is of a certain weight and is used like money to the locals.

Thanks! I'd like to be able see how things looked around 1853 at that house site. 5 or 6 kids playing in the yard and horses etc. There are houses close to it now, but they weren't built until around 1912 or so. The nearest neighbor back then was around a 1/4 mile down the road from the best that I can tell.

One of my favorite parts of this hobby is putting as much research as possible into the people at these times and places, ways of life for the area, and the equipment we use to discover it. Then use that gathered information along with dug evidence to paint an image of their home life based on relics recovered. I always wanted to be an archaeologist and this cuts it for me. Especially when home sites are on your own property and you can just go there and try to envision life nearly 200 years ago at any time. Haven’t we all had the vision of standing in a field and time warping back the environment around us to just observe. Imagine what we would learn by just seeing.
