I mostly hunt woods as I enjoy the peace and tranquility, but Aureus had been encouraging me to get permissions so I can expand my repertoire, so to speak.
After a couple of tries I finally landed my first farm to hunt.
The first few hunts there I dug several copper coins, including a Geo II and a bunch of flat buttons.
Yesterday thou I joined the Rev War button fraternity with an amazing Loyalist Kings Royal Regiment button.
Also known as Johnson’s Royal Regiment of N.Y., KR Yorkers and Royal Greens, this was one of the first loyalists Regiments to be raised during the Rev War.
Loyalist were American colonist who who stayed loyal to the British Crown during the Rev War.
The KRR of NY was formed by exiled loyalist leader Sir John Johnson.
Fleeing American persecution he gathered up two hundred of His followers and guided by the Mohawks they began an arduous march through the swampy Adirondack Mountain range to Canada.
In the Spring of 1776 Johnson’s hungry and tired band finally made it to Quebec.
Not long after,Governor Carleton approved the order to raise Johnson’s regiment and shortly afterwards at Chambly, Quebec, the Kings Royal regiment of New York began recruiting.
Still on cloud nine after finding my first Rev War button.

U can use this article as a guideline. Everyone writes differently I will be writing one soon for them called "Penobscot Expedition Gold". After about 5 days your daily find is hard to find and go thru pages . OLd news unless a Banner I guess. Gary
NOTE: First page should be last page to read.

U know I can't quite get my head around this "Banner Thing". Maybe the guys at the helm are prior service Navy and asleep at the wheel here. LMAO. Maybe to many great finds to pick from. Who knows. Like I wrote in one of my posts recently I don't give a "Rat's Patunya" if anything I put u here makes Banner long as I have the opportunity to do a "Show & Tell" . However that being written whoever is in charge is AWOL of that duty since your KRR button was well written, nice pics and a reference. No bragging or it's all about me thing they frown on . So if u guys that control this site are still reading wake up and smell the coffee please. AS for your article it does not need to be a book like mine and just keep it interesting like what u did here. Every time I see a great relic, coin or button from the American revolution makes me do this. Gary

Hi Gary,
I think the readers agree with you. I know that you care about sharing the find(s) with others - and the banner is an easy & quick way for people to see it. But I also can tell that you feel insulted or disrespected when an obvious banner does not appear there. That's only natural and we have to be careful about showing our disappointment. I've received awards when I felt there were others more deserving and not received them when I did. I'm guessing it has happened to you too. What has upset me more in the past were the times when I nominated a deserving person for an award and they did not get it. When that has occurred, I felt like I did not present a sufficient case for the award - even though the gracious person has told me something to the effect of "I was honored just to be nominated".

Regardless if the guinea makes banner or does not, I hope you can appreciate the respect we have for you, your work and the finds you've shared with us.
Best, Rick
