Went to a field that I have hunted civil war relics before. When I got there, I was disappointed with how high the grass was and rough stubble. I had my heart set on finding spent or dropped bullets and maybe a button or two. I decided I wasn't going to get discouraged, and decided to hunt big iron. I am glad I did! Out popped this Parrot artillery shell. It is almost intact with most of the fuse.

Actually, it was only 8 inches in the ground. Surprised me too when I pulled it out.

You don't have to worry about sending that one out to be drilled!! I've have 2 #10lb bottoms with sabot. Nice dig, should display well after some electrolysis :icon_thumright:

The artillery shells are such neat prizes. Do you think that one managed to tumble in flight and land base first?

Anything is possible. The parrot round was not very reliable.
