It took almost 3 months to find out whether these were from a shipwreck or not. This weekend I found out that there is a better chance than not that these two rings came from one of the ships of the 1733 Fleet. DSC01421.JPG DSC01420.JPG

I love it when folks take the time to do their due diligence rather than just proclaiming it to be.
Congrats on the awesome finds.

I will never sell them. Also, there will never be proper certification. The opinion of an expert on the 1715 Fleet is all I need. Opinion of an expert is not "official" so there will never be anyone who could try to take them. (at their great peril)

Very nice! Also congratulations on not setting yourself up for an unnecessary headache. It really irks me when Spain is allowed to claim treasure that history shows they stole in the first place!

I agree it's some fine bits of treasure to be sure, but would like to know how you came to have them. Tell us the story mate - we're definitely interested. :skullflag: :occasion14:

I went to a certain beach which I heard rumors that there were lots of wrecks near. I went to the end of the beach as far as I could go and started swinging. I found the big one in about 4 inches of sand just above the wave line and the second one maybe 20 or 30 feet on. I actually dropped the smaller one and someone saw it and grabbed it and held it until I came back. I talked to a guy who has found hundreds of 1715 artifacts, and his opinion was that it was most likely from the fleet. That is good enough for me. I plan to keep them forever. Hopefully someone down the line doesn't take them in to scrap them out for meth. Then again, that is why my brother is my heir.

No dance, but it did make me very happy that I had found something unique. Honestly I got way more excited over my first indian because I knew 100% that the indian was exactly what it seemed to be. I had hopes about the rings but was somewhat reserved to prevent myself from let down.

Out of curiosity, how would any beach find be certified as coming from the 1715 fleet?
