I've not been very active lately because it has been so hot here in the south. Today was a perfect day so I went to a small town, here in Alabama, where I had some luck before and I got permission from a really nice old gentleman to detect his yard. His house was built (c) 1920.
I immediately started getting a few Wheaties so that made me think that silver was possible. After about an hour, I got a high tone and when I opened up the hole the Walking Liberty Half, the Roosevelt Dime and the silver War Nickel were in the same hole. I ended up finding two Merc's to go along with them. I still have most of the back yard to detect and he said I could come back anytime .. even if he's not home. He even went to Chick-Fil-A and brought me back lunch! Of course I sat on his front porch, earlier, and talked to him for about an hour. You meet a lot of nice people when you knock on doors. I very seldom get a sour puss. Maybe it's a southern thing
