Me and my dad are building a house in Banner elk, NC and we found these after they back filled around the footers! We noticed an old creek bed while removing the top soil and figured it would be a good place for a camp. This was my first ever arrowhead (the quartz one) I have found and it’s pretty exciting! There is a lot more untouched dirt so we might find more!

My boss would of yelled at me to get back to work and quit playing with rocks.

If those all came from that small of an area you may want to start sifting the dirt if you have time. Nice finds and good luck!

Yes, If you can swing it, I would come back after hours and sift the most productive dirt. Unless you own the property, then you can do it anytime.

That's the idea! If all is well we are going to build three more houses on the property so going to be a lot more dirt moved:thumbsup:

Congrats on your first Indian relics! I'm afraid you are now addicted to hunting them, that's just how it works. Good luck on your future hunts!

I agree with Steve in Pa. I would be out there sifting every last piece of dirt. That is a lot of points to find in one little concentrated area. There has to be more. Good luck.

If they were found in backfill brought from that piece of ground you'll find more around there, If the dirt was brought in from another area, go there and find more...good eye!

that's a good point....if it is back fill it came in from somewhere else. I have seen the most fantastic black dirt farms in Illinois scraped clean down to the hardpan when they put in a housing development. All the black dirt is artifact rich and it is collected and resold to homeowners for flower beds after it is sifted.

Yeah all the backfill is from the topsoil we removed to put in the foundation so I would say they’re many more to be found!!
