This is my first post, so I hope you enjoy. I picked up an AT Pro this year and have been getting more active detecting. So when our friends invited up to their cottage in Northern Michigan for the weekend, I packed my detecting gear of course. We arrived on a rainy Friday, but I was still able to get out and detect in wooded area around the cottage. I found an old axe head, but not much else. The next day, the rain let up and my friend needed help with his dock. So he brought out some chest high waiders as the water levels are high and his beach area is under water. Once we took care of the dock, I was able to detect the underwater beach. For a while, I was not finding much, but then I got an 81. I was thinking it was a just a penny but worth digging since I wasn't finding much else. I was only in about a foot of water and used my sand scoop to get about 6 inches deep. Sifted it and then saw the ribbon around the edge of the coin with words in the middle. Putting on my glasses, I was amazed to see it said "ONE DIME". Flipped it over and the date read 1905! My first silver coin, first Barber dime and my first silver for the year. Also my oldest coin found, for the moment. After showing it to my friends, I went back to were I found it and got another 81. Excitedly I scooped it up and sifted it in the water. There in the scoop is another Barber dime! Now my new oldest a 1901! Further searching did not turn up any other coins, but I did find several early 1900's rifle and shotgun shell cartridges and an old pocket knife. Great weekend with great friends and great finds! Happy Father's Day!

Those are two nice looking Barber dimes. You also had your first multiple silver day, while we're counting.

Nice dimes, they’re beautiful, you got some odd ball Winchester rounds too, 32-40 and 38-55, don’t see those too often nowadays

My first silver was a Barber dime, what a great feeling.
I really like the dark toning on both dimes especially that beauty 1905
