That’s a awesome coin!

What’s going on with people digging crotal bells and being all nonchalant about it?

Yes, that is an awesome coin. I agree with you on the crotal bell too! I only found 1 crotal bell (so far) and it is one of my most treasured items to date. Love that little thing!

Honestly, I've got a bucket full...Not an uncommon find here. I do like to dig them and I keep them all and display the best.

If you think that’s a picked over site with those finds , you need to visit one of my hunting sites. That’s a really nice coin!

The field has just been disked twice in the past week which stirred things up quite a bit. The last time I was on this site I didn't find a thing...figured it was tapped out!

Awesome Romeo! I think you may have found Juliette's daddy's private. Coin very exciting, also Model T hubcab, corner hinge from an early folding rule and crotal bell plus!

Congrats and many happy returns!

That’s awesome man, I’d love to take a few various sizes off your hands if you need to make space to dig more. I love the looks of those things but I have never dug one!

Thanks all...was a fun hunt with a thrilling ending! It was a surprising find because even though I was in a target rich area all of the targets from that particular area were late Victorian at the earliest. I knew it was going to be silver but was expecting a silver quarter so this really set me on my butt!

Nice batch of goodies .. I like that ruler hinge! That's neat! Is that Ford piece the center of a hubcap or an actual radiator logo?

when i was younger - we get spots like that - thought they were done and then would be near by one of them few years later and stop in and bam it would seem like a whole new field
whether you are new or old - if you have good field spots that you hit for a year or 2 and thought you got it all - think again
couple of spots i hit 20 yrs ago (others did too) and we thought were cleaned out - Ive recently been going back to and still pull small spanish and small American coins that others
missed - will get a rare larger coin now and then but most are IHs or smaller - all the bigger stuff is gone but I will take what i can get

i only get excited now over crotals for 2 reasons - #1 - usually means no ones been there or plows did a good turn over and there may be more to find if im getting bells
or #2 - if they are stamped with a makers mark

Good points...and add to that the ever increasing improvements in metal detecting technology...what was missed 20 years ago may be found with an improved detector or more experienced detectorist!
