Me and Keith went to a low country mill pond and hit the jackpot today. It was a team effort today and I am blessed to be part of it.These are all the intact bottles that were found. Enjoy the finds....check out the completely intact Westerwald mug... ecol.jpg ecol 2.jpg ecol 7.jpg ecol 1.jpg ecol 4.jpg ecol 10.jpg ecol8.jpg ecol8.jpg ecol 3.jpg ecol 13.jpg ecol 9.jpg ecol 6.jpg IMG_3104.JPG IMG_3108.JPG

Wow! Congrats! Looks like you and Keith got into a colonial trash pit or privy. If that doesn't fire you up then I guess you need another hobby. Awesome!

I won't pretend to know anything about a westerwald mug but that thing is beautiful. The onion bottle is amazing too. Pretty much a miracle that those things survived intact!!! I'll give this a banner vote!

Looks like that would be a stein or a tankard. Ye olde tankard of ale. If only this thing could talk. I wonder if there is a pewter lid for it hiding in the pond?

one more thing I found. The GR is Georgius Rex. King George. Not sure if it's a KG I, II, or III !!! I recently read that KG I was from Germany. Fascinating stuff. I still can't get over that find!

Interesting fact King George II was the last British Monarch born outside of Great Britain. (They were from Hanover)

You know its a Banner if the guy who finds medieval and roman stuff says so!!!
I'm not sure on the US market, but I would guess that Mug would make around $1000 or more!
Plus no mention of the 18th C Scottish looking Quaich or bowl, it would be nice to see a better picture of that!

I can't begin to describe how cool it is to see items like the mug and the bottles in one piece! That large ax with the handle preserved is amazing too. What is the dish looking thing with the extension that looks like a crown?
My Banner vote has been submitted.

I'm mesmerized by that blanket photo of your finds. While the mug and bottles have been recognized by many others for their obvious merit, I'd also like to point out that the ax (with its original handle) is beyond amazing, and its easy for one to envision it being swung on its very last use. Banner day without a doubt.

We need a better picture of that potential ceremonial type drinking bowl!

Insane! Congratulations! Finding an intact onion bottle is almost unheard of, but to find two is crazy! I'm totally speechless when it comes to the mug. That is a clear banner find in itself, and super rare!
