Saw a guy who recommended using speed 8 with the 6” on trashy, both iron square nails and modern trash areas. Well that sounded like my spot, the old Rev Fort and now a forgotten park (land). So I’ve gone the last 5 times with nothing to show for it and it’s a hour away, but I couldn’t sleep and knew I’d be making that trip. I just woke up from yesterday at noon. Lol
All my coins are from the 40’s.

1944 War Nickel IMG_3126.jpg

3 1940’s Wheats IMG_3127.jpg

AND A 1841 HALF DIME!!!!! FULL LIBERTY IMG_3122.jpg IMG_3123.jpg IMG_3116.jpg surprised it wasn’t a -O-.

A 3 ringer!!!! IMG_3124.jpg at this site it means a lot to me.

A Girl Scout pin (thought I was a rare General Service pin until I got home lol) IMG_3125.jpg

What a think is a brass match holder. Has red in the inside. IMG_3128.jpg IMG_3129.jpg

Small brass pin IMG_3130.jpg

More stuff IMG_3131.jpg IMG_3132.jpg IMG_3133.jpg IMG_3134.jpg IMG_3135.jpg

I alway thought the good stuff if any was deep with the iron all being masked by the modern trash on top. Try speed 8 that half dime was only 3” deep!

Ive got to play around with my 6" coil more around some cellars.

could you describe exactly your swing technique and what youre listening for? are you hearing clear high tones?

I put it on speed 8 swung at a regular speed. I had my high tones high and volume high from 17 up. If I wait for a “clear” high tone I’d probably never dig. I dig a lot of plugs but not as many as I use too! Lol

Nice job on the keepers. You might have a lipstick case instead of a match holder. Sounds like a great place!

It looks small but then again you could probably only hold 4 matches in there at the most. So not sure what it may be.

Truth, great hunt, definitely some nice finds. Question, what were the rest of settings that you used on the 800 (update: just saw the settings in your video, thanks). Good luck with your hunts. Walt

See I always thought the good stuff was deep that other couldn’t get to and mixed in among the iron nails while the modern trash was 1-3” on top. So this setting showed me fast recovery got a half dime between trash that the bigger coil missed and the 6” hit a 7” 3 ringer while still on 8 recovery so I’m excited.

I go high Park 2, 5 tones, 1 on volume 1-10, 11-16 20 tones, 25 tones on 17-40,, threshold 10, 1 iron bias, 19 sensitivity, recovery 8.
