I was having a hard time deciding on which beach to go to today. So I chose a closer beach than usual. Winds were brisk about 20 mph and a foot of sand had already eroded due to the winds coming out of the northeast.

IMG_0763.JPG Last night we had a storm move through, so the sand was very wet. IMG_0760.JPG

Soo...I went to a couple favorite stand by spots and even the pull tabs were gone. So I went to an older less used section of the beach and poked the Deus' small footprint elliptical coin in and around the rocks in the water.

First thing were more sinkers. And more sinkers. IMG_0771.JPG Not as many as earlier this week, but in a different location most folks don't fish near.

I went a little farther and was very happy to find a new pet fish! IMG_0769.JPG The coins then started to show up! IMG_0772.JPG

There were even a couple 2019 quarters in the batch! A Marianas Islands P and War in the Pacific P. Can I get them at the bank? No! Beach? Yes. Go figure.

I walked a little farther and found the pirate treasure! IMG_0768.JPG

Then I found a coin patch and amongst the coins was a nice solid gold earring! I looked for the other one, to no avail. I found a small silver colored ring, but have to figure out where I stuck it. Not a bad day! IMG_0770.JPG IMG_0773.JPG

Everything I own hurts!

Congrats on a good hunt. I understand your last statement about hurting. I friend of mine once said “growing old is not for wimps.” Pain is part of the process and you just keep going because the alternative is to just sit around doing nothing and be miserable and the people who do that don’t last long.

So keep swingin and diggin and postin and have a nice long adventure.

No, right now, if a rogue wave hit you, that would be all folks! Maybe tomorrow. Lots of miles of ocean to explore.

Went to a new beach today. The water was very high. I tested out the underwater kit for the Deus and it worked flawlessly.

I didn't realize it was going to be so hot! I didn't stay long. I got some clad, but basically just wanted a road trip.

That's one of the few places where I would be real tempted to hunt in the water for coins dropped from the slot machines on the piers in the 1960's. The Potomac R is a weird boundary where Maryland goes all the way to the VA shoreline. Since slot machine gambling was legal in MD, some enterprising businesses built piers for the slot machines and while you accessed the piers from VA, the machines themselves were actually in MD waters and therefore legal. But that area has been hunted heavily just for this reason.

Tommy, I almost had a cow when my buddy dug a gold wedding ring in my front lawn where I hadn't ever bothered to dig! Stuff can be anywhere.
