    Little piece of colonial silver

Tried to hit low tide today where I found one of the colonial buckles on Friday. Tide was not very low though nor were there many targets I did manage a few small roundballs, piece of shoe buckle chape and only my fourth ever early silver cufflink. Cant make heads or tails of the engraving on it. Possible the initials cHs

Thanks. Not as nice as my other three but 18th century silver linked button nonetheless and same shape and size as a gold one I found last year

Thanks. The others all came from land. Thin old silver tends to get washed out after 250+ years in the water

Is this perhaps some version of "our lady of the pillar" or am I seeing things?

Gotta love colonial silver. A quick zap with low voltage electrolysis might bring out a little more detail. Or you could soak it in lemon juice.

I see where you’re coming from. Maryland did have the most Catholics in the colonies albeit still pretty small. Its either badly worn or a crude representation if indeed so. Thanks
