Today’s find brass gas valve

A nice ornate chunk of brass valve is stuck open can find anythjnnto really date it most trying to sale them vary in years from 1880s to early 1900. Any information is appreciated.

They sure don’t make things like they used to. That’s the nicest looking valve I’ve ever seen lol

I love them, spray a little WD-40 in the wide end and let it soak for a little while. Then wrap the part you turn with a small rag and use a plyers or adjustable wrench to wiggle it back and forth. It should loosen up unless theirs a small rock inside or something jamming it. Cool find Paul

It’s definrely stuck in the open position might have to try that.

Very sweet save.
1922 is when electric came through my area so lighting was done by gas prior to then.

I think your date range of 1880s to early 1900s is a good guess. I found a similar ornate valve at a home built in about 1880. The one you found looks in better condition. How did you clean it?
