    1916D merk

So, for the backstory. Went to a friends and her boyfriend had try to build a paper patio in the back. Soon as I saw it, said how about we re-do this lol(this is the work I do) it was unlevel and water would shed right to the basement window. So next day we tore it up and realized it had not been dug out nearly enough. So lots of digging later I found a skeleton key. Gave it to my friend since she really liked it. Well all is done and we had a pile of dirt. I said mind if I detect the dirt? I found this dime and pictures are going to be hard to tell buuuut. I feel pretty confident that itís the key date dime we all hope to find. Itís just very very rough shape. Let me know what yíall think. I circled the area I feel the mint Mark is. I think if you are claiming a "D" mintmark, you ought to show it.

The front qualifies, but we need a picture of the back.

If you have to try to guess if its a "D", its most likely not. I have dug many 1916 MERCs over the years. Most were too well worn to have any remains of a mint mark if it was there to begin with.

Sorry, but your pic is about as clear as a pic of aliens, bigfoot and nessi having a tea party.
