One of the oldest parks in town. Has been used during civil war and held nazi prisoners during ww2. All buildings are gone now and just a park now. I have detected here many times and found many wheats and 2 silver Rosie's and 1 mercury dime. And this was a big surprise at only 3 inches deep. This place has been detected for over 50 years

That’s an awesome coin! The half dime is so small that a lot of the older machines missed them.

Wow...that is beautiful! Given the lack of wear, that must have been lost right around 1860 or so....awesome. Congrats!

Woof!
Superb coin!
And, from a place that has been hunted for so many years, too...!

Congrats on a nice looking seated half dime. It's funny but I have seated coins from the 1840's, 50's, 70's, 80's and 90's but cannot find any from the 1860's. Maybe this will be the year.

Ive found 52 seated. Not one from 1860s. Easier to find a gold dollar from 1850s than most seated from 1860s :laughing7:

Beautiful half dime.At a park that has been metal detected for 50 years just about makes you the best detectorist in North Carolina.
