It was the first cool weekend of the season. I got out to the site of a long demolished neighborhood. They are redeveloping part of the site.

They scraped the top layer off of a large spot. Of course I thought that they had scraped all the bottle caps off, and left the old deeper coins.

I managed to eyeball a bunch of marbles

I dug a bunch of modern coins, and there was a good amount of trash, despite the scraping.

This is an Army Transportation Corps collar disc.

I got this nickel, it looked a bit silvery... sure enough big mint mark.

This silver Rosie was a shallow screamer in the middle of bulldozer tracks.

This worn 1920 Merc rang in low and scratchy.

Here is shot of all of the goodies. 16 wheaties and 3 silvers, I guess that there were a few old coins in that scrape!

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts.

Wow, it looks so different! But, to your point, with the whole top layer of wine caps, bottle caps and screen door pieces gone it's a whole new spot. For now...

Hey! That hunt looks like one of Jamflickers hunts from across the street! Marbles galore! In my entire 9 year hunting foray I have found exactly 3 marbles, and two of THOSE fell out my damn head!:tongue3:
A nice assortment Tom, when I see construction tear outs my mind starts whirling....but I havenโ€™t come up with much hunting them. Certainly not THAT much anyway...

Nice hunt Tom. I like those marbles and the collar disc. Keep hitting that place, it looks like a nice one with all the scraped dirt.

Congrats on getting back out and digging those keepers Tom. It's great seeing this post and knowing you are still slaying the silvers.

Your friend
