    Victorian Military Helmet Pieces!

Had an hour after my doctors appointment today so I hit a well hunted site that has been recently plowed. Only a couple targets but they were good ones! Helmet plume holder and a shako chain from a Victorian military helmet! Very happy with these and new incentive to keep hitting this field!

8 Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ - Luke 15:8-9

I think you just helped ID one of my old whatzits. I had a copper piece/section of one of them with the crown showing & it reminded me of the tip of an umbrella but I knew it couldn't be, now I know - Thanks!

    Nice complete example!

Right on! I had no idea what it was and didn't think much of it when I dug it...couldn't see the crown until later. Hope to be able to find more there. With the chain and the plume there could be a plate!
