I have been dying to get back to that ally. I did the update for my Equinox at the library today. The machine seemed crisper. I was surprised all this popped out. I ran the last half hour in all metal. The good targets would sing out. I need to learn to adjust the volume of the iron down. A very trashy place, but it was old trash where you dig all the good targets. The finial piece had me curious?? Any guesses? The alluminum token Says Father Gamble Victor Co. I am very happy to have this. From a cigar and ticket stand 1896. It's pretty rare for me. I haven't had time to look up the Balke token. The religious coin is strange and I look forward to seeing what an unburned one looks like. It has Beware of on the front and a shepard on the back. Anyone know where the palace of arts is??? Happy Hunting out there in this crazy world. I am thankful for so many items from this place!! Beautiful finds. I have not spent much time in my life detecting and digging, but finds like yours make me want to start. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks BookZach, I usually go out 10 times and maybe find one good item if I'm lucky. I'm sure having fun lately!!! I think it's from someones house that burnt long ago. Pretty sad also what a fire can do. Find some old dirt!

Thanks Tamrock, I enjoy learning about all this good stuff. A guy up the street found an old one washed out in the alley behind the Elks Club. Its not in too bad shape. An eyeball find.

I just found out the R E Fletcher token is from Poncha Springs. A very small town I pass through once in a while! The Palace of Arts piece might be from the Panama Pacfic exposition in San Francisco Screenshot_20191015-200058.png in 1915.

Man, you are killin' it! two great tokens, and a sweet medallion!
At first I was thinking the Palace of Arts was from the Ice palace up in Leadville,
but your idea makes more sense.
Glad to know the Equinox is doing so well in the mining camps, I know I had to use the 4x6" on the DFX
to ever find anything.
Insane amount of sheet metal tin, iron, nails, etc., up in those mining camps.
Keep it up!
Kudos,
Carl

Long ago maybe around 1980, Leadville broke up the old concrete sideways on Harrison. Underneath were still the old rotten wooden boardwalks as they layed the old cement over the wood. I'd see metal detector fellas all over checking out piles of dirt and along the edges of the old boardwalks, as our carpool be going through town on the way to work. I heard all kinds of coins and relics were found before the new sidewalks again covered it all up. Those metal detectorist came from all over to search through all that construction going in back then.

I’d have to agree that the Palace of Arts medal is from San Francisco. I’ve been there a number of times and the depiction on your find does resemble the architecture of the venue. It was initially constructed in 1915 and nearly fully rebuilt in 1965, so today’s appearance is a bit different than the original design and layout.

Thanks Carl, I am very happy detecting lately. It is a very good spot. The funny thing is I remember detecting it when I first started out. I can't believe I missed all this stuff. I have to go back over everything now!!! I'll be getting the small coil before spring. I was really hoping they would make a 6x8 coil. I love that size. This big coil is nice and I am getting spoiled on how much ground it covers. I do notice it will hit on some targets in only one direction. If I can get any good signal I'll dig it. It's a blanket of iron sounds, that is for sure! Good Luck out there!!

Thank you for that information sj, I bet it is an unbelievable place to view art and walk around. I love finds like this. It seems like it would be a good place to detect:) I am guessing it is from a bracelet? Great picture, thanks!
