Is yesterdays scouting mission with Land-Mag. We tried a target that has never been done for just an hour. It was intel from an 1860's map stating Roman pot shards were found. The map reference was correct but the pottery spread we found was NOT Roman, but I can see why they thought it might be. (shell-tempered Medieval Ware) So that was a bust & our 3 strike off the target list in pretty quick succession.
We then moved to a nearby field where I had only found 4 Roman coins in the past but thought it worth a return trip. I found a small patch & notched up 14 Roman Coins in 1.5 hrs, but that was all of it! I did get my smallest coin EVER at 6.64mm (widest point):laughing7:

Today we returned to Hill Top View to grid the last bit of the edge for 5 hours;

32 Roman Bronze Coins
17th C Button
Circa 17th C Leather Mount
Tudor Strap-end
Roman Bracelet Bit
Iron Age (Celtic) Brooch
Celtic Bronze Unit (shame its in poor condition, I can just see the Horse left)
Charles I Halfgroat
2 x Lizzy Pennies

All the hammered fell to me today.:metaldetector:

As always an absolutely amazing hunt from where I sit. You have some great spots to hunt and you do it well. Your knowledge of the artifacts you find is a real asset and a great reference for the rest of us. Thanks for posting and keep swingin.
