Hello All. Found these at two small town sites 60-miles apart here in Central FL. Both are point-of-purchase machine made souvenir items from the 1920's and 1930's.

I really dig digging relics like these.

Thanks for the view and Good Luck out there. C9

I like digging stuff like that, too! I really like that elongated penny! The stamping is near perfect.

Hello creskol. Yup that is one of my favored finds of late, especially since an 85-YR old acquaintance told me his parents went to the 1939 NY Worlds Fair back in the day. Kinda feels good to have a real life link to an event that old.

Thanks for the reply and Good Luck out there. C9

Many elongated coins display a set of letters near the narrow end of the coin. These are the initials of someone involved in the coin’s appearance, such as the designer, original engraver or the maker of the roller.

Worlds fair items are always of some collector value!

Interesting side note to your carnival badge....
A couple years ago I dug one here in my town. Nothing unusual, I've dug quite a few of them over the years. But I recognized the name on this one! It had a boys name and an address for a house. Now, I knew the age of these so I knew the address wasnt current, but the gentleman lived around the corner from me! He had been a neighbor of mine when I was growing up. So I cleaned it up, and took to him. Its really cool to be able hand someone a piece of their childhood from 70 years ago! He confirmed that his address as a boy, but he had no idea how this would have ended up clear on the other side of town in the lot I dug it from.

Hello JE. Thanks for the reply and interesting story.

I have dug several of these also but they are usually extra corroded. This one was bent in half but cleaned up nice.

Good Luck out there. C9
