I'm not usually a poster on the todays finds section, and this is definitely not my best hunt of the year but I thought I would post anyways. I was helping my dad out at a side job he was doing and I brought my metal detector along. Got an hour in throughout the day during breaktimes and an hour afterward. The first hour wasn't super great, found two wheat pennies and a memorial, THEN I went to the front yard where I found 3 wheaties, two clad quarters, two more memorials (one of which was bent weird) and best of all my FIRST silver quarter. I have been waiting for this one for a while, in the process I have found coins more than a century older than the silver quarter but this one has evaded me all year.

I'd say a pretty good hunt for only 2 hours at a house that only dated back to the late 1930s. I didn't think I would be able to get out again this year because of business and the cold but I am hoping to get out once or twice more this year before winter comes. Thanks for lookin and happy hunting!

Thanks all! I guess even a quick hunt at a newer house is a treat for me... I have been hunting the same site for most of the summer and the good finds are dwindling. I am going to start exploring some of the older houses (and long gone sites) in my area. I'm already gathering a list of goals for 2020! Happy hunting and thanks for all of your kind replies.

Thanks Washingtonian! It definitely gets your blood pumping to find big silver! I'm happy to see any coin in the hole... I'm getting desperate digging all the absolute garbage at my one of my old sites so its nice to freshen things up.

Thanks Clad2Silver! It is in pretty good condition... thats one thing I like about detecting. I have had a lot of luck getting coins that are in pretty nice condition.

Thanks Silverfreak! Thanks Tommy, I hope there'll be more too! if all goes well I'll post again on Saturday or Sunday. If I can get permission I am going to spend a few hours at an 1860 house on Friday and hopefully get some permission at a few 1830s and 40s houses I've got my eye on. My uncle, aunt and I are going on a most of the day detecting trip.
