I went back to the old high school again today and spent 5.5 hours swingin the CZ21 around the football and baseball fields. There were a nice number of target including a wonderful batch of tabs LOL.

All in all I found 115 coins with a face value $7.24, a house key, a 1966 dog tax tag, a 2018 pendant (cheapy), an old copper rivet (it could be old, but they are still being used so no way of knowing for sure), a 1952 Rosie, an 1899 O Barber quarter, a 10k gold fill ring and a 1945 wheatie.

The gold fill ring is missing its stone (probably glass) and you can see the green oxidation from the copper under the gold. Not a great ring, but any ring is fun to find.

The Barber quarter was a nice surprise. She was in a clay ball that fell out of the plug when I popped it out of the ground. I could see the silver edge and knew it was a quarter. The wide rim told me it was probably not a Washington.

I have been finding a nice number of silver jewelry pieces, but silver coins are in short supply lately. This is my first silver quarter in almost a year and only the second Barber in the last 6 months. So this made me very happy. It’s not a key date, but she is in pretty good shape for a 120 year old lady and she is a long way from New Orleans.

So another good hunt in the books with 2 nice silvers and a very small amount of gold, gold fill that is. LOL

Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.

My very first silver coin find was a Barber Quarter, but I haven't found another Barber Quarter since then.

The same thing with me and half dimes. I found one my first year of detecting and after 17 1/2 years I still haven’t found another.

I hope you find a Barber quarter again soon. Keep swingin.
