Hey folks,

Didn’t anticipate detecting today but I had a little window of time and decided to get out briefly at a spot close to home.

Usually, I just hope to find a single silver coin to make my hunt successful. Today, I was hoping for 2. That would get me to 80 for the year. I’ve been a bit spoiled lately so I decided to aim high.

Well, my second hit of the day was a 64-D Rosie. Pretty great start. I didn’t find much other than wheats and clad for a while so I switched to a new site. I hadn’t been there long when I got a decent signal at 5 inches under a pile of dog poo. Good grief. [emoji23]

Well, I don’t let the elements stop me so I went for it. The ground was super rooty and had a weird composition but after a little careful digging I popped out a dime. It looked a little funky but I thought there was a chance it was silver. I checked the edge and sure enough, silver! A 54 Rosie.

I was detecting my way out and got one last signal. It was a 12-47 at 2 or 3 inches. Almost always just a clad quarter. Man, was I shocked to find out it was a King George VI Canadian Dime! 1942. A King George VI Canadian Silver has been on my bucket list for a while so I was super pumped with that find and happy to check it off the list.

I also got 9 Wheats (oldest was 1919-S) and a couple tax tokens.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Nice! You've been all over the Silver and that Canadian is another for your collection. Kinda funny cuz I was in St. Johns Newfoundland and found 5 Silver dimes on a hunt, 2 of which were
American barbers. You just never know. Congrats on the lister.

Thank you so much all for the kind responses. I appreciate it. Just trying to do my small part to contribute to the forum.

Also, I love those Newfoundland dimes. I think their silver coinage is so cool. Way to go!
