    Rev War era Rattlesnake Button!

It rained most of the day so I did other things. The rain finally passed and I managed to get out with only about a half hour of daylight left. Turns out that's all I needed. Found only 2 buttons and but one was this nice gem. Once I got home I started my research and was shocked to learn what I found.

Nice find. Just how many varieties of the “patriotic” rattlesnake buttons exist and are some rarer than others?

Congrats on a stupendous find! I know these buttons don't get the same shine as a GW but I think they are more rare judging by how often they come up on here. Very nice piece of history! Is the mushroom a mushroom or is it a liberty cap? Either way it makes me think the phrygian hat should come back into style!
