Nope, gotta go to the coast if I want to detect. We got 14” of Yankee sunshine yesterday. Good news is; gonna be in the 50’s all next week

Gotta love that Crotal bell, and that coin is beautiful! You also got an interesting variety of harness buckles, etc.

Is there a date on the wick adjuster wheel of the lantern?

Congratulations on your new permissions .. Good luck at those sites!

I don't think I've ever found a crotal bell made of tombac metal before.
Most of the bells I find in my area are cast bronze.

My wife and I spent 10 days in San Francisco in August, we're already planning a return trip.

Best of luck to you in Cali,

Silver is always better then bronze Arg, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Thanks for your post creskol.
I always look at the patent dates on thumb wheels, as they're sometimes a good indication to the age of the sites.
One is 'P&A 1872', I pretty sure the other one is 'United States 1862'... so a #2 size '4-prong' burner and a #1 size 'flange/lip' burner.
These were both flat wick burners, unfortunately they're very chewed up from the farm plows.
