Last few days at the colonial home

Well, it's finally clearing up outside. Maybe digging later this week but I did get out a few times over the weekend. One site was a long forgotten colonial home. It has been hit before, but there are still targets in the ground, especially around the iron.

Here's this week's take. Click image for larger version.

Very nice bunch of colonial items! I'd love to see a closer shot of the real. What did you do to the iron pieces to get them to look so good? Congrats!!

Very nice assortment of finds and the lead 'sow' is quite interesting! Now I'll know what that is if I ever find one like it.

8 Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ - Luke 15:8-9

I put the iron in an old fashioned tumbler with a few quartz pebbles and water. Let it run a couple hours, dumped the dirty water, and repeated two more times. Then I "boiled" the iron in microcrystalline wax, without setting the house on fire (yes, I did it outside), and that drove out the moisture and preserved them.
