    Split-Site West - Day 3...

    Although it's the 3rd day that one of us have been on the field, it's actually the first serious day of gridding. Which based on our scouting seems to have found the perfect turn-a-round spot.
    From time to time Cru'dad & I like to guess what the 5 hour total will be & I guessed 35/1 Roman Bronze to Silver & Cru'dad was 25/1.
    At the 3 hour Lunch break we were only at 17, so with 2 hours after lunch I was not looking so good, until my first run where it hotted up. Getting 25 in 2 hours. No silver yet, but it must be on it's way. However, Split-Side East only had 1 so far.

    42 Roman Coins
    Roman Military Strap Fitting - Type I've not seen
    Roman Nail Cleaner - Type I've not seen
    Grotty Celtic Bronze Unit (Coin)

    <THANKS ALL>

    It's a good start, & the signs are positive for more of the same. What we are hoping for though is something a little better Iron Age & the 1 Roman Silver. (Although it will probably be a 3rd C debased type, but you never know)
