Due to snow and frozen ground here, I decided to head south for a little nugget shooting. I went down to the Bradshaw Mountains and went to a spot where I had found some decent nuggets several years ago with a Gold Bug. The area has received a ton of rain recently, so I had some glimmer of hope of finding some gold. 2-1/2 hours into the hunt after digging the usual bits of rusted wire and pieces of lead shot, I finally scored! I used the stock 11" coil in Gold 1 with all stock settings, tracking ground balance on. 4" of gravel to the bedrock, I got a nice signal and here she is. It made the two hour drive completely worthwhile.

Thanks! It was so exciting that I stopped hunting after I found it, because my day was made. It's a real test of patience, because of all the tiny junk targets in the wash.

Thanks, it does have quite a bit of character. I intended to post pics of both sides of it, sorry. The other side is worn smooth. It has a lot of quartz in it.

That is very cool. Finding a good nugget isn’t even anywhere on my radar but I would be ecstatic if i did.

Thanks everyone! It wasn't on my radar until it snowed a lot and the ground froze solid. The great thing about living in Arizona is that you can get out of the frozen ground by going south 50-75 miles.
