Went to a permission we hunted yesterday, didn’t feel like it today, so we had several maps from the 1800’s to look at. We found a place down town that was a opera house built in the 1870’s, and two adjacent buildings they were gutting to redo. They had taken a previous structure off the back, and it was loaded with bottles. All the bottles under the floor of this old building had corked tops, some embossed there was more than 4 five gallon buckets full, and there is still some left, along with steak bones. Found several Civil War Relics, several wheat cents, the newest being in the teens, also found a 2 1/2 cent token that I’ve yet to look up. Several clothing items, a liquor tap, civil war boot tap, kepi buckle, sword scabbard piece, and a super vintage pocket knife with handles still attached, and 3 dropped Civil War bullets, and all were underneath this old building, and the dirt they drug out and spread out. We’re still not done. There is plenty of targets still remaining. We got so wore out from digging, and bottle searching we called it a day. Adjustments.jpg

It sure was. I’m going to clean the tap, and possibly the knife, kinda scared to screw the knife up. I like collecting them regardless of how ugly, but you rarely find them with handles when they’re old. I’m still trying to ID my token.

What is the relic directly above the knife?

Directly above it is civil war lead made into a sinker. Then above that is a civil war boot tap

Thank you. This is just a tip of the iceberg. There is more out there. If the workers would stay away from the known good spots we could find more, my brother has yet to post all his finds, which were some coins, tokens, bullets, and crap load of bottles

Thanks Tommy, yeah I sure hope we can go back. I’m going to try, and detect between the floor joists if they have sealed up the doors. In total there were four buildings that were that way, and a cistern that was filled in I’m hoping we can get back to it. Sad part was is some of this, and broken_detector finds were on the top of the ground, like the civil war bullets, coins. It was just crazy. I’ll take a close up in a bit. Also I kept wondering why I found so many suspender clips, and other clothing items from the 1840’s, well there was a Laundry building back there.

His new motto shouldn’t be broken_detector, but instead dead_battery. My car would have charged his batteries if I would have had a 110 USB port for his cable. It charges everything I’ve got, and runs a Skil Saw(don’t ask how I know). I’ve charged laptops when chasing tornadoes, to even Tablets. I really should carry that extra USB charger that is for 110 outlets. I’ve got another one, but I think it’s at Psychos house

Very nice. I think the 2 1/2 token is the real winner. Any way we can get a close up of it?

Sure thing. I’ll get some, I was attempting to locating another members makers mark on a necklace
