Got out for a while yesterday and poked around where no one would want to go. Out of the ground came a plated spoon, junker ring (rang up like a nickel, thought it was gold๐Ÿ˜–) a triple hoop silver earring thingie (tested .925) three buffalos with the obligatory lack of date, a mondo wondo square nail, pocket watch cover, tooth paste tube cap thingie and some zinks. Also, the gem of the day was a real purdy 1916 mercury dime. I must have knocked off the โ€œDโ€ mint Mark with my shovel๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
Good luck and happy huntinโ€™

Nice looking Merc, but without that elusive d mint mark. Wish the silver would come out of the ground here in Arizona looking like that.

Congrats on an almost super rare coin!!! I found the 1916 recently and looked at it like 5 different times to make sure that I wasn't missing the highly desired mint mark!!!

Nice job Joe. I like those Buffalos and the Merc. I have found 5 - 1916 Mercs, and not a one of them has the D mint mark, (although I do check periodically to see if one materializes) !
