Quick Afternoon Hunt

I decided to go out to kill a few hours this afternoon after the rain/snow stopped and I ended up finding two 1941 D pennies, a 1920 Philadelphia penny and a 1942 war nickel. My first pre-1960's coins. I am so happy to be back into this hobby!

Back in '76 I had a '66 Chevelle with the factory 396, Muncie M22
and a few other goodies. Damn...sure do miss that car.

There is an adjustable setting on your Iphone for the image size. I believe yours is set
to a larger setting, making for very large file sizes and huge images. Images would
post better (correct side up) if you reset that to something along the lines of 1000x800
(or thereabouts). Images would still be plenty big for internet use without any degrading
of the image, and they would load and post much faster.

The original size of your image was 3.7 MB @ 4032 x 3024 pixels. You really only
need that image size if you're shooting a pic for a 3'x4' poster. I reduced the pic
to 900 x 1200 pixels and 892kb.

Thanks! It's hard to top those old Chevelles. My dad has an all numbers matching Cranberry Red 1970 SS with the 396 L34 and Muncie 4 speed. We would always frequent every car show in the area when I was growing up and would spend the most time around the Chevelles.

I bought a 72 chevelle for 500 bones back in the day. I like the 70 with the ls6 454

Ohhh the days when old muscle cars were dirt cheap... I remember the gas crunch in the 70’s... along with the gas-sipping imports flooding the shores. 69 Camaros, big block Vettes... I even remember an old ad in an Auto Trader type magazine, with an ad that read “Dodge, big block, 426 4x2 carbs, 12k miles $4500.” O..M..G..... That four letter word.. h-e-m-i... and not that watered down crap made today... true, honest, big cam, big carbs, ground-pounding horsepower. I know what a 12,000 mile hemi survivor would bring today.... a touch north of $4500. Well kind folks, I can’t honestly afford a quarter million dollar toy, but I do have a VERY rough 73 factory big block Vette in the garage, it’s had a rough life. I can see about 6 layers/colors in the 1/8” thick paint. But it came with a salvageable 454 and a fresh B&M TH400. Working on it doesn’t really seem like work, fun actually...seems like I’m going backwards with this project but I hear you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. Beautiful Chevelle btw... they sure don’t make’em like that anymore. Ddf
