Hey everyone!

Hope you’re getting along well to kick off February.

I snuck in a couple hour outing today to a tear down and one other site. It was a fun and random day of finds.

Here are the highlights.

My favorite find is the unique looking trade token. It says 5 Idle Hour. The research I did turned up this link which shows that it was for a bar in Roseburg, Oregon (300 miles from Seattle) from 1940. Google Maps shows it is still open today. How wild!

Other cool finds include:
-A 1953 Jefferson
-6 wheats (oldest is a 39-S)
-A WA tax token
-A fake Spanish coin
-A decorative pin
-A surface find LEGO figure

Any guesses as to what coin this Spanish coin is supposed to be a replica of? 8 Reales?

Nice finds. What I wonder about the Spanish coin: Is it a contemporary counterfeit or a modern replica?

Ugh, yeah haha. Such a disappointment.

Thank you!

Nice finds. What I wonder about the Spanish coin: Is it a contemporary counterfeit or a modern replica?

Looks very much like a modern replica and based on where I found it (early 1900s house) in an early 1900s/late 1800s neighborhood that's the only real explanation that makes sense.

Nice finds Wash. I like that token.

Thank you, I do too! It's so unique looking.

Wow I need to hunt with you some day those are really cool I dont want to find a fake Spanish coin though lol

Come on over Tommy! I'm gonna plant some fake reales and drive you nuts lol.

Ok, dumb question. Is the "reale" gold plated? If it is it just might be an 18th century token. They would never plate a reale, which was silver, with a gold plate.

Cool finds Wash...:icon_thumright:

Thank you very much!

Cool token and the fake real is a nice find too. Much better than tax tokens. lol

Agreed. Fun to have some variety haha.

Not a dumb question! It definitely appears to be gold plated. My hunch is that it's modern since it was only a half inch deep with other modern stuff nearby.
Nice hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Thank you!

Nice hunt. I love that old token!
Yeah! The token is so cool. Very unique design.
