I went to the old wharf area and got cold and muddy for a few hours. The placed is trashed over with modern junk, but it paid off today. I am always thrilled to see any Rev War show up and this one is easily my best USA pewter. Fresh from the mud! Thanks for looking.

Dang! I just did a banner vote for Whatdayagot's pewter USA button. This one looks like it was just cast last week. That's amazing!

SCKeith, that is one beautiful USA button. Both an oldie and a Goodie. What an addition to your display this button will make. Very Well Done, and a great save of our Early American History.:notworthy:

Thank you for your nice comments. The button was found by raking muck and debris. The mud preserves pewter well sometimes like this. I dont know how deep it was but I raked out maybe 6 inches on average, so not real deep.

It is a brass sleeve link button. Mud kept it from getting a patina I guess.

I know finding a button like that makes you want to get out there a find a better one but you're going to have to dig many more to get better than that
