I was at my " button field" again today for only an hour before picking the kids up from school. I made one pass and the finds came in left to right. In other words they just kept getting better. When I first saw the infantry button it was caked and I had it upside down so I thought it was a ladies button with ferns. Stuck it in my pocket then pulled it out and saw the eagle this time. I was so happy. Back in pocket. Pulled it out again and saw the I!
The earring is stamped Tiffany and Co and 14K. I think it's plated but still got my heart pumping on Valentine's day.
The dark button is a glass bead button with a metal backing.

Thanks for looking and HH

If the Tiffany earring says "14kt" then I would think it's solid.
Tiffany stuff goes for big money anywhere.
Check ebay for prices of their items.
Great scores there!

To find out what the "scrap value" is, get an app called "scrap it".
14K today is like $29.70/gram.
Don't let someone "steal" it from you.

Thank you. I found the button on an old farm that's now a town park/open space. The soil is just a little sandy and definitely no modern fertilizers are used here. I'll let you know about the shell, I'll find out today. The patent# on the clasp puts it post 1947.

Great hunt "Gene Mean" !! Nice looking Tiff. I agree with "EQ8". For Tiffany to sell anything plated would be SACRILEGE !!! to them.
I found a photo of a Tiffany & Co. clip-on 14k earring with the same pat. # 2423905 & the site said it was 1980's vintage & solid.
Great Find !! CHEERS !!! J.T.G. (see photo)

Thanks J the G. The shell is not plated but a "hollow" piece. I took the $180 for it. We walked out with $306 after snooping through our dressers for other goodies.

Not a bad score!
I have a few gold items I'd love to sell, but am going to hold out until after November.
I can't see gold dropping much lower, but when the SHTF I believe it may go way up.. We'll see..
If the President isn't re-elected I believe the stock market will about crash over night, making the metals soar. Again.. we'll see...
(Just my worthless opinion) :D
