It’s not like I haven’t tried.... but I wouldn’t call it a slump either.
My number of hunts per month are way down since the move, and permissions are few and far between in these parts.
Most places are pounded, even the private properties have been hunted from an old timer who knew everyone in town.
Today, this became mine.

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Kinda makes me wonder sometimes. Going along finding coin after coin. And yet....no silver ones?! I can understand that they tend to be a more obvious signal most times. Therefore, found quicker. Yet....no matter how hard a place is detected......just doesn't seem like *all* of them have been found?

In any case, nice find and if you expand the picture fully, it shows upright. Just FYI.

Considering how close you are to the Braddock and National Roads, and all the travelers that passed through there in the 18th and early 19th centuries, I have high expectations for your future endeavors in your new hunting grounds

It's there. My buddy and I have both found cut pieces down there, and we have only made a couple trips down there

Big Wave Dave,

Big congratulations on finding your silver Mercury dime - it is in great condition.

I was looking at your 4 silver dollar banner post and saw what a great job you did at getting the black gunk off the dollars. Can you tell me how you were successful in removing the gunk. I recently found an old silver coin and an old gold gilded button which are both covered in black gunk.

Thank you in advance for any words of wisdom.

Good luck with your hunts.

Walt

Hey Walt, it took me a minute, but I found the link...
Credit Tnet rockstar Buckleboy, his method worked well for those dollars... to this day, still my best find ever
