Went out to my favorite field tonight. Have dug a lot of silver coins and Sterling pieces there. Also have found quite a few Arrowheads there also. Wasn't getting many high tones so I decided to start digging Indian penny signals. After about a half hour I got a signal that bounced from 15-17 on the nox but for the most part it was mostly reading 16 with a solid sound. After digging a plug a saw a small disc. Assuming it was a play token. After looking at it I thought it looks like silver. Then after looking at it more I could see the word NEW. With a 165 and the hole. Then I realized what I was looking at.. very exited about it. I know it's not in the greatest condition but I don't care..could some one help me with the NOE thanks in advance. Also got a Sterling baby spoon, a Sterling clover which I believe belongs to a stick pin, and a Roy Rogers badge IMG_20200327_211505.jpg IMG_20200327_211843.jpg IMG_20200327_211927.jpg

Toasted - I believe that you have the correct ID. Center dot touches the six in 1652. You only see that on the Noe 34 Pine Tree Threepence. Good ID.

Ken - Your the man! So often I hear people say that when they first see Mass Silver come out of the ground - "It looked like play money!" Who knew that detecting in an old dumped on field could pay off so well? ??? Congrats and keep looking for those Indian Head Penny signals. Where's there's one, there may be more. :headbang:

Farm since mid 1600s. Also was a dump
Combination of my two Favs. I pretty much only target farmsteads from the Celtic to modern & where they dumped stuff!

Anyways, if I were in the US that would be right up there on the List - CONGRATS:occasion14:

Congrats fellow Mass digger on the find of a lifetime. I hope this coin gets the recognition it deserves and I fully expect to see it up top with the other amazing banner finds. Spectacular. Banner!

Less than 200 known ? Should be a no brainer for Banner !! Vote on the way !
Don't take this comment as belittling the find, as that's not how it's meant. We all must remember that is what's 'known' & like with many finds or Private collections there are many unknowns (like this latest addition, which I assume will not be centrally recorded?). I've asked Museums about Recording rates of coins & it's generally excepted that only 1 in 10 get recorded.
Therefore, it's a 'fair assumption' (not 100% accurate) that there are probably about 2000 (known + likely unknown) out there. Still not many & still a BANNER vote for sure.
