Can anyone identify this?

I found this while metal detecting, and it appears to be sliver, however I think some of it may be missing. It was bent, but I was able to straighten it out at least for a photo. Pretty thin, but feels like silver weight.
Any help/idea what it could or may be?

I think you're right about it being broken, maybe it's a piece of a napkin ring? :dontknow:

Third pic, the right side looks complete, but the border is missing on the left. Looks silver to me and DCMatt appears to be on the right track.

It looks exactly like the pic of the back that he posted.

It could be part of a fancy liquor decanter, it could be part of a silver picture frame, the back of a fancy old hair brush, etc.
