Hit a nearby park with the Tarsacci MDT 8000 today. I have had this machine for about a month. TBH, I've spent most of the time getting used to the various settings. Besides the usual-ground balance and sensitivity, there's threshold, black sand, salinity, tracking, three modes, four frequencies and multiple sounds. By themselves, they are straightforward enough, but trying to learn the chirps, VDI's, and get the quietest setting without sacrificing depth will take time. I bought the Simplex to satisfy my need to just get out and go, and also for friends to use (which it does very well!), but the Tarsacci is something else. Depth is NOT a problem with this machine! Have a great day everyone!

Looks like you had a great day Reg!
Personally, I'd take a 40min drive down to Santa Cruz and hit this massive beach.

Best of luck to you in SJ,
Dave

I've been out of the hobby too long. I thought Tarsacci might be the name of your neighbor and you were hunting his field. Excuse me, Mr. Tarsacci? Can I hunt this here field of yours?

That's funny! Tarsacci is a relatively new brand that's been out since late 2018. The local detector shop in my area is a HUGE fan of this machine, and after taking it out for a spin, I knew I had to have it!

Best of luck to you today Reg, I'd love to know if you find anything good.

We were in San Francisco for 10 days last August and took a day trip down to Santa Cruz to play on the Boardwalk.
All I could think of when we were walking along the beach was... man I wish I had my Deus right now! :laughing7:

We also went up to Bodega Beach for a day, now that beach looked promising!
Dave
