that clipped planchet penny is an excellent find. Hard enough to encounter one in change, but digging one is probably a 1 in a million shot
Many years ago, I found a clipped 1862 Indian Head cent in a friend's yard. At first I thought it was damaged until I cleaned it up and took a closer look at it. It is in beautiful condition, too. That soil was very nice to coins.

Excellent finds MV. I like that Cap Gun. And yes, the odds of digging a clipped penny, are probably a million to one, because I'm sure I've dug a million pennies, (at least it feels like it) and I haven't found a clipped one yet !
