Unknown find...(and head hurts trying to find on net)

Found a few months ago at a buddys house near some the old ferry's on Kentucky River(ferry's long gone now) and his house/land is old 40's on deed but 1900s on old site but just cannot seem to find it and i know someone here has seen/dug something similar...

Sort of like the old scaled epaulets from the Civil war, although i don't recall them being that large.

Take a look at the details on this one. Architecturally, it matches yours pretty close.

Im just missing (I believe) One word that will allow to find this item or a real close similar one--Just one word-idk if that word is the design type or if its truly copper or thin brass(pretty sure copper tho) or with the back pin gone and only a true eye hook left or that one word maybe being era type word or military or non military word...I know its a blood pressure button pushing little item...shew
