Hi Cantstopdigging,

I'm in Mass, but sadly don't spend any time detecting down on the Cape. There are some T-Net members who do detect down there and on Nantucket and Martha's Vinyard. Hopefully one of them will chime in with some ideas for you. Best of luck!

Any town beaches would be fun. I suggest early morning or early evening low tides to avoid crowds and to get beyond the thick sands. Stay off National Seashore beaches, as detecting those areas could get you in trouble. Good luck..

Do some research. Find out if there were any buildings, arcades, fishing piers etc. When you select a beach notice where the people are. Just pick a beach and start a lot of it is just luck anyway!

There are a lot of hunters out there - Im out of commission due to surgery or I would have hunted
there at least a dozen times by now (i travel 2 hrs to get there)
- i do water out there and have done very well - i usually go for the
older areas over the new
if you dont mind knocking on doors - there are tons of historic house on bay side - locals have hammered most of the parks
there are really not many historic spots you can hit - most just hit the dry sands on the beaches or wet sand at low
on the bay side that goes out a mile

large percent of the silver and old gold in my vids is from Cape or just off the Cape

There is a popular dealer in Yarmouth if you need anything detector related - if you stop in and buy something small
and ask her of places to go - she may help you out - buy a machine or a long handled scoop
or something - she probably would really help you out

If the fields are planted and you don't want to detect parks or schools, you can always walk/detect the creek banks in your area.

You'd be amazed at the great relics that folks lost or tossed years ago, not to mention the arrowheads you might eyeball!

Cape does not have a lot of farm land - schools and parks have been hammered for yrs - unless you want fresh drops
There are a lot of hunters out there - a lot. I know like a dozen and thats just tip of an ice berg plus I know many that pound there from off the Cape
Most just head out to hit the beaches for the tourist drops

Hello Forum,

Could anyone give me any suggestions for good areas to detect in Cape Cod? I'm in Dennis currently. There is so much history here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

THX

Best pizza - Paradise Pizza - i love traditional meat & mushrooms - my GF loves their seafood one - Joey is the owner
Lunch - try the Dog house in Dennisport- try their clam fitters- my gal loves their fish tacos
Best restaurant ...diner - Yarmouth house - never had a bad meal there...if its just you or you and wife/Gf - sit at the bar
Best breakfast - you must go there - Keltic Kitchen...West Yarmouth - go early cause its very popular - they got awesome specials
and stuff you wont see on any other breakfast menu

Got others if you want more

one good chain they have here and there on Cape
Seafood Sams- (there's one in Yarmouth) awesome take out - get some fried lobster if they have it
lg butterflied shrimp are awesome too
One of my favs on 6A is Amari's- really cozy and food is excellent

AT Max won't be so good in the saltwater but will be fine on the dry sand. Fantastic lobster tacos at Quicks Hole restaurant in Woods Hole down by the ferry dock. Whyddah museum in Ptown is worth a visit to see real pirate treasure even if the finder is a scoundrel. Don't wear short shorts in Ptown though.
