Hello All,

I have two junk boxes. I call them the "greater junk box" and the "lesser junk box." The latter of these is where I put all my matchbox cars, car keys, interesting iron items, etc... The "greater box" has some interesting items in it...

Here are some of my favorites:

finds 002a.jpg

Pocket watch pieces, a little brass lock at the top left, half a Victorian ladies' buckle (silver) bottom right, a medicine weight on the bottom left, and a badge that says "Springfield Ohio Centennial Celebration 1901" in the center on the bottom:

finds 003a.jpg

Old Chinese coins bottom right, assorted buttons and small buckles, Victorian cufflink center right, silver Victorian jar lid for a vanity set on the middle bottom:

finds 007a.jpg

My favorite dog tag--a 1924 Virginia dog tag in the shape of a dog's head:

finds 009a.jpg

Old brass rings, costume rings and brooches, and the top of a Victorian brass ornament on the bottom left (partially cropped out):

finds 008a.jpg

My favorite watch fobs--The top one says "Fleishman Morris & Co. Richmond Va." and on the back "I wear Morris Shoes. If you don't a fob like this will cost you 25 cents." The bottom one says "Eat Hines Ice Cream"

finds 010a.jpg

A couple of tokens and play money pieces from the center of the photo:

Thanks for looking, and Happy Hunting!

Like the little lock, very cool. I guess they had a real time in 1924 telling the males apart from the females, huh go figure. Dig the post.

BB,
Lots of great finds you have there. That small lock is my favorite. In your top picture in the bottom left, are those decorative pieces of metal from furniture?
I find a lot of those too on the farm I hunt.
Thanks for the post & great pictures,
MM

Yeah, I love the little lock. I always heard that those pieces were Victorian "door ornaments," but I've never gotten a solid ID on them. They're thin stamped brass, and I found them both in the same yard. The house dated to the 1890's or so. They could be furniture decorations.

Plehbah--is that subliminal advertising? Haha! I like that ice cream fob too. Looks like Neapolitan ice cream. :D

Yes, this badge was found in a hunt with Hill Billy on his property. You know it'll be taken good care of. I look forward to hunting with you again--gimme a call anytime.
