    hope it test real ...ive found close to 1000 gold rings and have never seen an 18k ring discolor though

    Digging that honker out should magically make it GOLD,, but it looks like 18K BRASS to me.

    Ive gotten 9k and 10k discolored and caked but in salt water usually
    think ive gotten 10k in fresh water rocks with slight discolor but it will usually clean and shine
    with baking soda
    ive had fakes marked 14k which will shine after cleaning but after a day will dull or discolor again
    which gold wont do

    I hope you have the real deal, but the clunky workmanship and design is typical of the many varieties of fake gold rings stamped 18K used in various scams. Here's just a few recent ones:

    Thanks Casper-2. I’m definitely skeptical due to the same belief that 18k wouldn’t tarnish that much if at all.

    Thanks against the wind. I agree with you it is now gold no matter what and the buyer will give 100% melt value lol.
