I have been waiting for our parks and rec to start this project for over two years.... They are building a half mile of paved trail through my favorite park. Today they finally cracked it open, about 3/5s of the length of the trail.

I imagined silver coins raining from the sky..... Unfortunately there were not many coins at all, only 51 cents in clad. I did score a couple buffs, a V, a toasted war nickel, an Indian and 6 wheats. Star of the show is a 14k ring with a light blue stone!

Dig those nickel signals!

Awesome finds, love your ring and sweet assortment of coins. Your trash bucket looks a lot like mine

Congrats on a great day in the field! All beginners should see the pics of your finds! You must dig some trash (pulltabs, etc.) to find the Gold!

Great finds....that is a harmonica reed under that clad dime coupled with that pipe bowl just might be evidence of Civil war era troop activity. Lots of Federal regiments from Michigan!

Congrats on the gold. Its always a bonus when a nickel signal or ( better yet) a pull top signal turns out to be GOLD.

PS- Those nickels are in great shape. Mine always look like crap coming out of the ground, and still look like crap after cleaning.

Congrats on a nice hunt. Those nickels look great to me, as my old nickels, especially Buffalos, always come up toasted. Nickel signals sure can be frustrating, but the occasional gold ring certainly makes digging them worthwhile, as I too have found out lately. That ring you found is very special , and it is great finding gold. Happy Hunting.

I like the hunting button too! Great ring too! They've been clearing the undergrowth in the parks around here and that's where some of my best finds have come from.

Great job on the treasures, great coins with a gold ring as the icing on top. I particularly like the picture of your box of trash. Finding gold can be a lot of work but it is worth it. I hope all the new detectorists are paying attention because those gold ring signals can be a lot of different things. Congratulations, stay safe and keep swingin.

Nice! I love finding the clay pipes. My trash bucket looks to be a lot heavier than yours lol. How many hours of digging was that?
