The other day, I ripped the crotch out of my favorite diggin’ pants. My last pair of Navy issued woodland camo from 1996. So, I went on to “the eBay” and bought some new ones............. anyway, I was so damn excited, I went out for the rare late afternoon hunt. I didn’t find s**t for coins, but my last hole was a bucket lister for me, a size 9 sterling thimble, 50 feet from an old baseball field, weird😳

Awesome find. Even though I only have 3 to my name, I like finding those thimbles. They are neat little relics.

I don't fit into my BDU's anymore. :laughing7:

Great detecting pants and kudos for holding onto them for 20+ years. Very cool thimble, what is the little pin in the photo?

Not sure yet, I’m letting it dry before I take the Dremel tool to it (;

Just a little copper hair pin, not too old, the pin is still intact. Rand up a 17 on my Nox at 6”, it was supposed to be a trime ):

on the top, inside it’s marked sterling with a design, I don’t see a makers mark unless the design is it.

I found one waaay back in the 80's. It's smashed and I didn't think much of it as I'm a coinshooter. Now, I cherish it and wish I could find another or more anyway. That's a sweet one, Joe, Grats!
