Found this metal detecting today, does anyone know what type of rifle and age? It looks like a lever action rifle possibly. Thanks so much.

I don't think it's from a lever gun, looks like from a single shot like a rolling block.

You got it Charlie, I didn't have time to dig mine out. VH, a lever gun would have a loading gate in the front right side of the receiver. Did dig out this Remington rolling block in .43 Spanish I dug years back. The Stevens uses the same basic mechanism.
