Found my first ever large Liberty Head Cent last week with an 1831, today I found an 1851 in better shape. I've previously found three Draped Bust Cents all in much better shape than these two Liberty Heads (1798 and 1801). These large cents are few and far in between, so when I first pull them out of the ground I hold them in my hand and chant "please be a Flowing Hair or a Fugio." A nice consolation prize nonetheless.

The gold-plated button dates from around 1780, the other I don't know. It's corroded but has an interesting stamped back mark in addition to the cast "Rich" and something hidden under the loop. Interesting symbols.

I've been out there swinging the coil in the woods but the colonial sites only yield just enough to keep me going back. Looking at a lot of nails and iron fragments, very time-consuming. Ready to go back at it tomorrow. At least I know they were living there.
